ISLAMABAD: The federal government is determined to inject 1 7045 MW energy into the system under the umbrella of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Talking to Customs Today’, senior officials of the Planning, Development and Reform Department said that 21 energy projects are in the pipeline. At least 14 Energy Priority Projects (EPPs) will generate 10,400 MW and remaining seven Energy Actively Promoted Projects (EAPPs) would generate 6,645 MW energy. Officials said that total $33793 million will be bspent on all these projects — $15,506 million on EPPs and $ 18,287 on EAPPs.
While sharing information about the cost of each project with Customs Today, these officials said that $1,980 million will be spent on 1,320 MW Port Qasim Electric Company Coal Fired project in Sindh; $1,600 million on 1320 MW Sahiwal Coal-Fired Power Plant in Punjab ; $1000 million on Engro Thar 2×330 MW Coal-Fired project; $860 million on Surface mine in Block II of Thar Coal field 3.8 mtpa, Thar Sindh; $360 million on Gawadar Coal Power Project, Gwadar 300 MW; $1600 million for Muzaffargarh Coal Power Project, Punjab 1320MW; $1600 million on Rahim Yar Khan Coal Power Project, Punjab; $1300 million on SSRL Thar Coal Block 6.5 mpta and CPIH Mine Mouth Power Plant, Thar, Sindh 1320 MW; $1350 million for Quaid-e-Azam 1000 MW Solar Park, Bahawalpur, Punjab; $125 million on Dawood 50 MW Wind Farm, Bhambore, Sindh; $250 million on UEP 100 MW wind Farm, Jhimpir, Sindh; $134 million for Sachal 50 MW Wind Farm, Jhimpir, Sindh; $125 on Sunnec 50MW wind Farm, Jhimpir, Sindh; $1802 million on Suki Kinari Hydropower Station, KPK 870 MW and $1420 million on Karot Hydropower Station, AJK and Punjab 720 MW.
A senior official further said that now these projects included in EAPP, Gaddani Power Park Project which will produce 2640 MW and total $7,920 million will be spent on it while $1200 million for ‘Jetty and Infrastructure’ and $3000 million for ‘Transmission Line to Lahore and Faisalabad’; $970 million will be spent on 660 MW HUBCO coal power plant, Hub Balochistan; $550 million for Chichoki Mallian 525 MW Combined-cycle Power Plant, Punjab; $800 million on Salt Range Mine Mouth Power Project including mining, Punjab 300 MW; $2397 million will be spend on Kohala Hydel Project, AJK 1100 MW; $150 million for Pakistan Wind Farm II (Jhampir, Thatta, Sindh) 100 MW and $1300 million on Thar Mine mouth oracle, Thar Sindh 1320 MW.
