ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Balighur Rehman told the the Senate that Pakistan is one of the three countries with the largest drug seizures and 200 people were arrested at various airports in 2013 for smuggling narcotics.
He said the federal government had imposed a ban on issuance of arms licenses to contain illegal arms.
Rehman said currently the process of verification and computerisation of issued armed licenses was underway by NADRA.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal informed the Senate that reduction in petroleum prices is expected due to falling of rates in international market.
He said that the government passed on the relief to consumers whenever there was fall in oil prices in the international market.
