MULTAN: The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office decided 43 various seizure cases of worth Rs.125.087 million for the duration of the month of May.
According to the details, the Customs Adjudication received several cases framed decided 43 by Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Multan and Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation during the said period. Customs Adjudication accelerated hearing of seizure cases to dispose them as early as possible on the directions of Federal board of Revenue.
Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz settled as many as 23 various seizure cases of worth Rs14.185 million throughout May after completion of proceedings. Seizure cases of vehicles, auto parts, liquor and other goods were involved in decided seizure cases of May. Almost 13 fresh seizure cases of worth Rs.22.485 million has been added for hearing in the Customs Adjudication.
Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain decided as many as 16 different cases of worth Rs.34.600 million in May. These seizure cases involved vehicles and various miscellaneous goods after conclusion of hearing. Additional Collector Talib Hussain gave verdict of three seizure cases in favour of taxpayer due to lack of sufficient evidences. Almost 30 new seizure cases of worth Rs.59.497 million of Additional Collector power added in the Customs Adjudication.
Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Khan Buzdar has decided four various seizure cases involving Rs.76.302 million in May. He settled all cases in favour of customs department, while no cases were decided in favour of taxpayer. Almost 13 various seizure cases of worth Rs.354.916 million has been added for hearing in the court of Collector Adjudication.
Customs Adjudication is winding up seizure cases as early as possible to dispose confiscated goods through auction.
