SAINT CROIX, US Virgin Islands – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Field Operations Officers in the US Virgin Islands identified a man with a felony bench warrant from Marion County, South Ocala, Florida.
Felix Santana, 51, a citizen of the United States and resident of Christiansted, St. Croix, was identified after he presented himself for CBP inspection at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport in St. Croix, before boarding a flight bound to San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has an order of full extradition to Florida related to a traffic offense.
Law enforcement databases alerted to an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Mr. Santana’s custody was transferred over to the Virgin Islands Police Department for extradition to Florida.
“Customs and Border Protection is an agency committed to securing our borders while at the same time cooperating with other law enforcement agencies in the enforcement of U.S. laws”, stated St. Croix Port Director, Vinroy Douglas. “CBP officers will ensure that individuals that have transgressed the criminal justice system and are encountered at our borders are identified and detained.”
CBP officers detect many individuals wanted by authorities in the continental U.S., upon their arrival to the USVI, or upon their return to the mainland from the USVI.
