NEW YORK: WhatsApp has a huge number of active users and it’s becoming more popular from day to day but Tango is a fierce competitor to WhatsApp that can be installed on Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows and Windows Phone devices.
Smartphones vs computers
WhatsApp was created for smartphones, and to install it on a computer or a tablet, you’ll need an Android emulator, but there is also the WhatsApp Web version that runs with the three important browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Tango, on the other hand, is supported by phones, tablets and computers and you don’t need a SIM card to register and you will add contacts manually. There is also a version created especially for tablets.
Storing messages in the cloud
With WhatsApp, your conversations will be stored on your phone’s memory card, while Tango stores them in the cloud, but they’re secured, so you don’t have to worry about your privacy, because with go.box cloud service, your messages are kept securely. Also, this method is preferable because there are many users with devices that have a small internal memory and don’t want to fill it with messages.
Voice Calls
Tango has been offering Voice over IP Calls for a while, but WhatsApp introduced the Voice Calls feature recently, and it can be activated only if the users download the latest version and are called by their friends who enabled it after receiving voice calls from other people and so on. WhatsApp invited a few fans to test the feature in January and later, they were allowed to call their friends, to help them activate it. To register to Tango, you can use your Facebook account and you can send invitations to your friends to join. Tango offers voice chats and it allows you to play games.
Which one has more users?
Both applications were released in 2009, but WhatsApp was lucky to be purchased by Facebook in 2014 and its popularity increased over the night, currently having over 700 million active users, while Tango has only 290 million monthly users.
Exporting Data
If you want to export data to your email account and forward it, WhatsApp allows you to do that. This option is appreciated by business people who send messages for business purpose. Tango doesn’t support exports, but it allows you to cut and paste texts.
Them
Nowadays, social media websites and messaging applications are taking over the world and people spend more time in a virtual world, instead of socializing more in the real world. WhatsApp has a huge number of active users and it’s becoming more popular from day to day, and even if it has a few common features with its rivals, there are differences that are in favour of WhatsApp.
