LAHORE – The electricity shortfall has reached 2,950 megawatts in the country while that the total power production is 9,550MW and the demand is 12,500 MW, said a spokesman of NTDC here.
Out of total production, 6,220 MW is being produced by IPPs, 1450 MW by Thermal Units, while 1880 MW by hydel resources, he detailed. He said that the outflow from Tarbela and Mangla Dam is minimal due to suspension of flow to canals and the power generation will increase when the canals flow will be restored.
