SHAH ALAM, Malaysia: A Malaysian sessions court has charged seven senior Customs officers with nearly 100 counts of corruption.
The officers were charged with counts of accepting bribes of between RM500 (S$195.49) and RM298,000 under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Act 2009. One of the accused, Assistant Director Datuk Saad Ishak, faces nine counts of accepting a total of RM29,000 in bribes for not imposing duties on goods comprising liquor.
