LAHORE: Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) and Punjab Board of Revenue have collected Rs 58 billion in Taxes in first nine months of FY 2014-15.
The target of tax collection for current financial year is Rs 156 billion. Both financial departments need to collect 98 billion in fourth quarters.
The target for PRA for taxes collection in FY 2014-15 is Rs95 billion in which department collect has collected only Rs30 billion and Rs280 million in first nine months. It needed to collect more Rs64 billion Rs720 million in remaining time.
The set target for Punjab Revenue Board to collect taxes in current year is Rs39 billion, Rs780 million in which department collected Rs27 billion, Rs870 million in nine months which needed to collect Rs11 billion and Rs910 million in till 30 June.
The target for Excise and Taxation Department is Rs22 billion and Rs790 million in which department collected Rs15 billion and Rs240 million which needed to collect Rs7 billion and Rs550 million in reaming time of running financial year.
Punjab Revenue Authority collected very less amount of taxes in set target only Rs30 billion in Rs95 billion on slow targets Chief Minister Punjab showed anger.
The institution need to collect Rs21 billion and Rs58 million average in remaining period that in impossible. The reasons for very slow collection are PRA has two offices in Lahore and no any other office in 35 distracts of Punjab. Punjab Revenue Board very less collected from agriculture sector.
