KARACHI: Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs is facing difficulties in order to get access of the clearance data, provided by PRAL and Directorate of Reforms and Automation, it is learnt here.
The reliable sources informed Customs Today that the working of Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs in connection with detecting audit observations against past cleared consignments has almost come to a halt, as the authorities concerned of PRAL and Reforms and Automation refused to provide clearance data to the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs.
The sources disclosed that the requisitions regarding preparing audit observations sent by the authorities concern of Internal Audit-Customs are not being facilitated by the PRAL and the Directorate of Reforms & Automation, which giving colossal loss to the national exchequer.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs during the last six months have detected and prepared billions of rupees audit paras against the import of telecommunication, steels pallets, anti-dumping and other consignments to the field formation Collectorates i.e. MCC-Appraisement (West), MCC-Appraisement (East) and MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim.
The sources further revealed that the field formation Collectorates were also involved in ignoring the audit observations sent by the Internal Audit-Customs, particularly the MCC-Port Muhammad Bin Qasim as the authorities concerned of the said Collectorate has not yet responded the audit paras sent by the Internal Audit-Customs.
The sources termed the prevailing situation a backdrop in collection revenue as the recent condition would certainly affecting the revenue collection of all field formation Collectorates.
