KARACHI: The working of the Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs may affect, as its regional offices have not yet been transferred under one-roof i.e. Custom House, it is learnt here.
The sources informed Customs Today that Directorate General of Internal Audit-Customs Rubina Wasti has sent several letters to Collector-MCC Preventive Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda and other authorities concerned in order to allocate the offices to the officers/officials of the Internal Audit Department. However, no such development has yet to be made in this regard by the authorities concerned.
It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC-Preventive has made the arrangements regarding the allocation of the offices to the additional directors of the Internal Audit-Customs and allocated their offices at the 11th floor at Custom House, but the authorities have not yet arranged the offices for the assistant directors, principal appraisers and appraisers of the Internal Audit Department.
The offices of the assistant directors are still existed in the Sales Tax Building located at Old Sabzi Mandi, which creates problems in carryon the routine proceedings of the Internal Audit-Customs.
When contacted, the authorities concerned of MCC-Preventive informed this scribe that they are trying their level best to allocate the offices to the officers/officials of Internal Audit-Customs at Custom House.
