TOKYO: Microsoft will introduce voice messaging for Xbox One users soon. This is among the new features Microsoft is rolling out as updates for the console according to report.
“Xbox One preview program members will be able to compose and playback voice messages in the messages app when snapped on Xbox One. Quickly and easily record audio to send to your friends or others through your snapped messages app accessed through a simple quick double tap of the Xbox button,” it said.
It added voice messages can be exchanged between Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles.
Also, it said there will be dedicated servers for party chat so Xbox One owners can chat more reliably.
But this is only enabled for parties where one or more members are previewing the April system update, it said.
Experimentation is continuing on “What’s on,” which highlights popular videos, movies, TV shows and game broadcasts, the site said.
Now this week, Microsoft is bringing even more features to Xbox One in Preview, making it easier to keep in touch with friends on Xbox One or Xbox 360.
A separate report on The Verge said the previous console, Xbox 360, let users record and send voice messages.
However, voice messaging was not on Xbox One when it launched in late 2013.
“Now that both consoles have the feature, messages can be sent between both Xbox one users can record and send speech to Xbox 360 users, and vice versa,” it said.
