KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Export has initiated audit of exporters who are availing Duty Taxes Remission on Export (DTRE) facility on export of their consignments.
This was revealed by MCC-Export Collector Manzoor Hussain Memon while talking to Customs Today exclusively.
The Collector-MCC Export Manzoor Hussain disclosed that around 60 to 70 cases of non-submission of DTRE cases have been detected by the collectorate while scrutinising the data during the period of 5 years from the year 2009 to2014.
The collector further revealed that the collectorate has verified the veracity of the exported consignments to the foreign companies through email before issuance of DTRE facility to the exporters.
“The demands of DTRE exemption have been decreased by the unscrupulous elements after the strict surveillance being carried out before issuance of DTRE certificate to the exporters,” the collector added.
He said that the collectorate aims at ensuring the influx of foreign exchange against the exports through firm surveillance, adding that the foreign exchange of the country has been increased in three to four months according to the reports of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
