JAKARTA: Indonesian Customs and Excise Office busted three attempts to smuggle methamphetamine from China and Malaysia with a total weight of 4.6 kilograms during the past three weeks at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Customs and office head Okto Irianto said his officers arrested a 50-year-old Chinese woman identified as XS, a 33-year-old Indonesian woman identified as MM and an Indonesian man identified as CS.
Okto said customs officers had grown suspicious of XS, who arrived from Hong Kong.
“We found nine bags of methamphetamine with a total weight of 2,072 grams hidden inside her undergarments,” Okto said.
Meanwhile, MM and CS were arrested during delivery package control.
“The suspects and the evidence have been handed over to the airport police for further investigation,” Okto said.
