KARACHI: Under-invoicing by importers and customs agents has been detected on import of used cars which are older than three years.
This has been revealed by the recovery department of Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-West during the audit of clearance documents of used imported cars which are more than three years old.
The department has issued demand notices to the persons involved in under-invoicing. The recoverable amount has been set around Rs 600 million. However, the total amount mentioned in the demand notices adds up to Rs 350 million.
The recovery department of MCC Appraisemnt-West has already started looking into clearance data of all used cars imported during 2013.
