HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks have opened 0.22 per cent higher after an official gauge of Chinese manufacturing activity rebounded in March.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 54.31 points to 24,955.20 on Wednesday.
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.38 per cent, or 14.39 points, to 3,762.29.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 0.55 per cent, or 10.79 points, to 1,969.19.
