HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks rose 0.18 per cent in opening exchanges on Friday, in line with further gains in Shanghai, which has climbed more than 12 per cent in just over two weeks on hopes for fresh stimulus from China.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 44.36 points to 24,541.44.
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.11 per cent, or 4.03 points, at 3,686.13.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.08 per cent, or 1.49 points, to 1,915.72.
