LOS ANGELES: Google has come up with a new e-mail service called Inbox which will help users organize their e-mail, highlighting the most important parts of an e-mail such as phone numbers, pictures or flight statuses.
The programme can send out reminders for tasks such as picking up dry cleaning or making a reservation.
“Inbox is by the same people who brought you Gmail, but it’s not Gmail: it’s a completely different type of inbox, designed to focus on what really matters,” Google senior vice president Sundar Pichai wrote in the blog entry.
Inbox is available by invitation for Android phones (4.1 and up), iPhone (iOS 7 and up), and Chrome browser on a computer.
