LONDON: Google released the Android v5.0 Lollipop a few months ago. As of now, only 0.1% of total phones across the planet have access to the latest version of the android OS. Out of these users, an overwhelming majority is that of the users of the Nexus phones.
Additionally, in the few months that it has been there, users have managed to spot various bugs in the Lollipop operations, and the company has quickly rolled out an update to fix them with Android 5.0.1, which is intended to fix most problems of the OS.
However, the new update has brought in some new problems and to fix them we are expecting that a 5.0.2 update for the Android L will be releasing soon.
The 5.0.1 update started rolling out on the 15th of December, and the 5.0.2 update is expected to launch around late February to early march.
The update will be fixing many problems that have been introduced due to the launch of the 5.0.1 update, this is a phenomenon similar to the one faced by the iPhone with the iOS 8 bringing in many new problems with every update intending to fix older bugs.
The 8.1 and 8.1.1, 8.1.2 each fixed a few problems and brought in new problems.
A similar case is being experienced by android here but we guess that the 5.0.2 will be the final nail in the coffin and there shall be no more bugs post this.
A large number of these bugs are being faced by the users of the Nexus 6 phone, and the major problems that they are facing are that of non-responsive phones after using flashlight, dropouts in calls, decline in battery capacity and slow charging.
These are all minor issues which can be easily fixed in a day if Google wishes to do so, however, it is in our best interest that they have decided to hold the update for another few weeks so that more bugs (if any) might be revealed and the update shall be a one-stop finish to all the problems that they face.
The 5.0.2 is also going to fix many memory issues, especially the ones which have been occurring on the older versions of the Nexus phones, i.e. majorly on Nexus 4 and often on Nexus 5 where multitasking takes a toll on the phone. This issue will be put to end with the new update of the Android 5.0.2.
