SIALKOT: On the request of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Interpol has arrested a Daska-based fugitive travel agent Muhammad Akram Mughal, a main accused in big financial scam of Rs 330 million, from Saudi Arabia.
The accused was wanted by the FIA in more than 255 fraud cases and 218 different cases of human trafficking.
FIA Gujranwala Deputy Director Sikandar Hayyat Malik said that on the request of the FIA, the Interpol arrested the accused from Saudi Arabia, who would soon be brought to Pakistan under the joint supervision of the Interpol and the FIA.
Accused travel agent Muhammad Akram Mughal, owner of Nimra International Travel Agency Daska, had fled abroad after looting Rs 330 million from the people in guise of offering attractive Umrah packages about five months ago.
The FIA has already arrested six employees of the fraudulent travel agency and the wife of the main accused by seizing 45,000 passports besides Rs 5 million from her.
Meanwhile, FIA Punjab Director Usman Anwar has highly praised the FIA for arresting the fugitive accused, Muhammad Akram Mughal, in Saudi Arabia through Interpol and announced commendation certificates for the team.
