KARACHI: The institutions under the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) have started sending reports regarding the taxes deducted from the government and non government employees while RTO Karachi has asked for the authority to monitor those who are not paying taxes completely.
It has been told in the report sent by Karachi RTO Chief Commissioner Ahmed Saeed that data of tax defaulters form July to November 2014 received from Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL). The analysis of data shows that the amount of tax theft is Rs 900 million. The information has been shared with large tax payers unit Karachi.
The major companies had been telephoned to collect revenue on December 11, 2014 but to no avail. The officers had been sent to investigate the issue but the employers refused to answer on the basis on jurisdiction. Therefore, it had been requested to the FBR headquarters to give permission to monitor the withholding tax of major employers under section 149 and 153 so that maximum tax would be collected.
