KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will appoint an additional collector at the working formation of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Appraisement-West in next few days.
The strength of additional collectors would come at four after the appointment of an additional collector in MCC Appraisement West while the Collectorate would continue to experience shortage of officers’ regime at Grade BS-19 as the sanctioned strength of additional collectors working in other field formation Collectorates stands at five.
The sources informed Customs Today that the FBR would induct an officer of Grade-19 from Islamabad into the MCC Appraisement West in the place of outgoing additional collector Dr Ifthikar Ahmed who has gone for training. However, the vacuum which was created after the transfer of Farrukh Sajjad (ADC) to the Directorate General of Customs Intelligence & Investigation Karachi would still persist in the Collectorate.
It is pertinent to mention here that the MCC Appraisement West had no Grade-19 officer for last six months but the situation has become worst with the departure of ADC Dr Ifthikar Ahmed as the Collectorate was working with the strength of four ADCs before the departure of ADC Dr Ifthikar.
Collector-Muhammad Saleem revealed that the collectorate has already written letter and asserted that the FBR would appoint an officer of Grade-19 in the Collectorate soon.
The FBR has finalized its working in order to appoint an officer of Grade-19 in the Collectorate.
