KARACHI: Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is going to hold its annual meeting in the recent week before the announcement of fiscal budget 2015-16 at FBR Headquarters, Islamabad to finalize the promotion cases of Pakistan Customs Services (PCS) officers of Grade BS-19 and BS-20.
The sources informed Customs Today that DPC meeting would be held at FBR Headquarters soon which would be chaired by the Chairman FBR Tariq Bajwa while the other members of the committee including Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Khan, Member Admin Shahid Jatoi, Member Inland Revenue Services (IRS) Shahid Asad, DG Customs Intelligence & Investigation-FBR Lutfullah Virk and others would also take part in the meeting.
The sources further informed that the committee would review the performance of Pakistan Customs’ Services (PCS) officers of cadres BS-19 and BS-20 and would decide their promotion on the basis of their performance and past record.
To a query, the sources further disclosed that the committee would also review the Annual Credential Report (ACR), assets and other requisites of the officers submitted by them before the DPC.
They further said that the Committee would decide about the promotion of the officers in the meeting and send its recommendations to the federal ministry of finance and government.
“The government would implement on the recommendations send by the Committee after the announcement of budget for the fiscal year2015-16 in June”, sources added.
It is pertinent to mention here that there are total 197 officers of Pakistan Customs Services (PCS) of grade BS-19 and Bs-20 across the country out of which 64 officers are working on cadre BS-20 and 133 officers are working on BS-19.
