ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and representatives of London School of Economics held detailed discussions on development of four key areas at FBR.
FBR Chairman Tariq Bajwa stressed over continuation and cementing interaction between FBR and international organizations working on tax, excise and other relevant areas.
Research and policy directors of London School of Economics named as Adnan Khan and Michael gave presentations to Charmin FBR and all members.
The key feature of the briefing was that FBR should form all policies on the basis of research to ensure economic growth and investment friendly environment in result of implementation of those policies.
The briefing session prolonged over two hours in which researchers and FBR top officials discussed different available international models. The visiting researchers also offered full assistance to FBR in this regard.
The researchers pressed on FBR officials that under the policy intervention, proper and adequate research was must for making any policy a success story as well as to derive out all possible benefits out of implementation of a policy.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman FBR said that there should be long term interaction between FBR and international organizations because it would definitely produce positive results.
He said that FBR should enhance interaction on regular basis with international organizations to give a good posture to FBR among international quarters. However, political will should be part of this process to resolve issues.
