MULTAN: The Excise and Taxation Department has impounded 60 vehicles, including motorcycles, in a crackdown on token tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles.
At least 37 vehicles were charged penalty for not paying token tax, while others did not have proper registration documents.
The special operation was launched on the instructions of Excise and Taxation Multan Director Jaam Siraaj who had called for stern action against vehicles without token tax defaulter and unregistered vehicles.
Now the general holdup will continue in order to collect revenue for the department through token tax and registration fee.
Inspector Najam was heading the crackdown along with his team in different parts of Multan city.
