ISLAMABAD: A Customs court has extended the judicial remand of supermodel Ayyan until April 11 and also rejected her plea for Class-B prison facilities.
After the expiry of her initial remand, customs authorities on Saturday presented Ayyan before the customs court to get extension in the judicial remand, as the department wants to probe the case further.
Judge Mumtaz Chaudhry accepted the request of customs authorities and extended the remand for 14 days.
On the other hand, the counsel for the model also pleaded the court for getting Class-B prison facilities. The court questioned about the facilities for Ayyan, to which a senior official of the investigation team, Zargham Khan, said that a person booked under the Customs Act, 1969, is not entitled to Class-B facilities. Later, Ayyan’s lawyers withdrew the request.
