SAN PEDRO: The heads of the California’s two busiest seaports on showed their willingness to make the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach more environmentally sustainable along with economically competitive.
As per details, Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka and Port of Long Beach Executive Director Jon Slangerup has participated at a board organised by Federal Maritime Commission Chairman Mario Cordero at the fifth annual Port Tech Expo in San Pedro.
Gene Seroka said that this is the high time to continue to raise awareness on environmental issues faced by major ports of the worlds. He said that the ports several years ago applied the landmark Clean Air Action Plan and the Clean Trucks Program and now working on electrifying operations, exploring alternative marine power and developing cleaner trucks.
