ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Tariq Bajwa will visit Dubai to participate in a meeting with International Monetary Fund (IMF) on October 29.
In the meeting, the FBR chairman will brief the IMF authorities on broadening of tax net, tax reforms and tax revenues in Pakistan.
The officials of the FBR hoped that the IMF will appreciate the performance of the board as it remained successful in raising the revenue in the first quarter of the current fiscal year and has achieved the big part of the set target.
On the other hand, the Finance Ministry of Pakistan has implemented the IMF core demand by inaugurating the Tax Reforms Commission but could not fulfill the other demands, including increase in power tariff. Now, the time will decide that Pakistani officials could satisfy the IMF authorities or not on the current political rift in Pakistan.
