TOKYO: Japanese parts maker, Nissan Motor Co Thursday revealed that the company is recalling 260,000 vehicles globally owing to defective airbags.
According to a company spokesman, Nissan is going to recall its March model, called Micra in Europe, and Cube due to defect in driver-side airbags made by Takata Corp. Initially, Nissan is calling 104,905 cars from Japan, 30,000 from Europe and 11,000 from China, he added.
US safety regulators on Wednesday expanded the number of Takata-equipped vehicles in the United States that may be affected by recalls to 7.8 million vehicles by 10 carmakers.
